The Power of a Renewed mind: Loving God fully

By: Sister Ricshian Joi

With all your heart,
with all your soul,
with all your mind.

Matthew 22:37 "Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind."

Have you ever wondered why Jesus wants us to love the Lord our God with all our mind? It is because our mind is very powerful gift that God has given to us. It commands our body to act. The body simply carries out what the mind conceives. Therefore, our sins begin in the mind — for it is where our thoughts, desires, and decisions are formed.

That's why as Christian, it is important for us to have a healthy mind. Because a renewed and peaceful mind allows us to discern God’s will and resist the temptations that lead us to sin.

And as Christians, it is normal that at times we are defeated by our own mind. We are only human — we feel, we struggle, and it is in our nature to be weak. But our weakness does not mean we lack faith. In fact, it is through our weakness that our faith is tested and
strengthened, reminding us to depend on God’s grace and mercy.

Seeking help from mental health professionals is not a sign of weak faith, but an act of wisdom and humility. God can use these professionals as instruments of healing, helping us restore clarity, peace, and emotional balance. Taking care of our mental health honors the life God has given us — for a healthy mind allows us to love, serve, and worship Him wholeheartedly.
